Program for: Individuals
Purpose: The program provides Ontario artists with an opportunity to do creative and professional development residencies in Quebec. Participating artists will be free to determine the residency’s objectives and how they will be achieved.
This program provides grants to cover the costs of the artist’s travel and accommodation and living expenses.
Interested candidates must submit a residency proposal that includes a stay of between one and three months in Quebec. Candidates are responsible for finding their own accommodations and making any professional contacts required for their projects.
The Ontario-Quebec Artist Residencies program aims to reflect the range of artistic practices in the visual arts, arts and crafts, written and oral literature, theatre, music, dance, arts education and community arts and to support excellence, regional activity, linguistic and cultural diversity and Aboriginal and Franco-Ontarian identity.
Eligibility: Please refer to the Program Guidelines for the OAC’s residency requirements and definitions of professional artists and organizations.
Artist collectives, groups and organizations are not eligible for this program.
An artist who submits a project in a discipline other than his or her career discipline must have presented at least one work in the project discipline in a professional setting. The support material must be in the same arts discipline as the proposed project.
We will not accept applications from artists whose reports for previously awarded OAC grants are overdue or incomplete.
Deadline Date: April 2, 2013 Grant notification letters will be mailed out four months after the application deadline.
