Toronto, August 15, 2005 — The application deadlines for Jets de théâtre (Theatre Tracks) and Avance médias (Media Arts Currents), two programs administered by the Franco-Ontarian Arts Office at the Ontario Arts Council (OAC), will change as of Fall 2005.
The Avance médias (Media Arts Currents) project program provides support to individuals in the development or production of new work in French-language based media arts. This program supports artists working in a wide range of media arts practices including drama, documentary, animation, experimental and film and video installation (artists also have the option of applying to programs within the Visual and Media arts Office).
The maximum grant for development projects is $ 5,000 and the maximum grant for production projects is $ 40,000. This program is offered in French only.

The Jets de théâtre (Theatre Tracks) program provides project support to artists and arts organizations for exploration and production projects in French-language theatre works. The program offers three stages of support:
Experimentation grants support the artistic costs of initial exploration and development of a theatrical project or idea. This category supports projects that are purely artistic research, focused on the early development of a new theatrical work, including creative workshops. A public presentation is not required. The maximum grant is $ 5,000.
Development grants support the costs of a project in an advanced stage of development, moving towards production. Some form of invited or public workshop presentation must be included as part of this process. The maximum grant is $10,000.
Production grants support the artistic, production, technical, marketing/publicity/promotion and administrative costs of a production. The maximum grant is $15,000. This program is offered in French only.
