McGuinty Government Recognizes Outstanding Artists and Arts Organizations

June 9, 2011 - Ontario honoured its most outstanding artist and arts organizations today at the 2011 Premier's Awards for Excellence in the Arts.

The annual awards honour both well-established artists, emerging artists and arts organizations across the province.

The Individual Artist Award was won by David Earle, co-founder of the Toronto Dance Theatre and founder of Dancetheatre David Earle (DtDE)

The Arts Organization Award honoured Vtape, a distribution and information resource centre that works to make contemporary video artworks accessible to educators, curators and public audiences worldwide.

The Premier's Award for New or Emerging Individual Talent recognized Robert Kingsbury, graduate of York University's Fine Arts.
