The
November 22, 2002 deadline for the Ontario Arts Council’s
Compass program has been cancelled. The next deadlines remain
January 17, 2003 and
March 21, 2003. To ensure adequate administrative timelines, the
Compass program will move to four deadlines a year as of April 1, 2003. These are :
June 15, 2003,
September 15, 2003,
December 15, 2003 and
March 15, 2004.
The Compass program has two components – mentorship and organizational development – to help organizations engaged in not-for-profit professional arts activity. The program contributes to the cost of hiring a mentoring arts professional or expert and/or living expenses for the professional staff being mentored.
Arts organizations may also apply to Compass for organizational development. Funds will cover transportation and per diem costs for a company that wishes to bring in a specialist with management knowledge and experience.
The Compass program is supported by the The Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation as well as by the Ontario Arts Council.
