Postcards from the Road
Lots of great art gets funded by the Ontario Arts Council. I work in the Touring and Collaborations Office. We provide touring grants that help get art to communities that otherwise wouldn’t have access to such a diversity of work. After a tour happens, artists send us reports on their activities; sometimes we get letters from people who enjoyed the performances or exhibitions they saw. Sioux Lookout, Fort Francis, Thunder Bay; the names sound remote and to contemplate a November tour of these northern Ontario towns can be unsettling, at least for a Torontonian.
