UNESCO World Conference on Arts Education

Steven Campbell, OAC Director of Community Partnerships, was invited in early March to be a panelist at the UNESCO World conference on arts education. 

Steven participated in the Human resources and partnerships panel and gave an address entitled "Financial Support towards Capacity Building in the Arts in the Community through Partnerships.” 

Approximately 1200 delegates representing 97 countries attended the Building Creative Capacities for the 21st Century conference in Lisbon, Portugal, in recognition of the important role of creativity and the arts in the lives of children and young people.

The conference concluded with a draft “Road Map Forward”  and plans to hold a second world conference in 2008 in Seoul, South Korea.
